During Ramadan, I purchased two skincare products from TREGO: the Skin Lightening Serum (5% Niacinamide + Alpha Arbutin) and the Skin Brightening & Lightening Toner (5% Glycolic Acid + Tartaric Acid). After finishing the serum and using the toner in different ways, I’m sharing my honest and detailed review so that anyone considering these products can make an informed decision.
- Skin Lightening Serum (5% Niacinamide + Alpha Arbutin)
Why I Bought It
Open pores have always been my main skin concern. I’ve tried three different Niacinamide serums from Pakistani brands, but none gave noticeable results. After consulting with TREGO, they recommended their Skin Lightening Serum.
Packaging & Texture
The packaging is simple yet practical. The serum has a thin gel-like texture that absorbs quickly into the skin. It is fragrance-free, non-irritating, and leaves a radiant, glowy finish — exactly what I expect from a good Niacinamide serum.
Usage & Consistency
I used this serum consistently, both in the AM and PM, applying it daily without breaks.
Results
Dark Spots: Reduced by almost 90%, which was impressive.
Complexion & Skin Tone: My skin looked brighter and more even.
Pores: Only 30–40% reduction. I believe this could also be due to my inconsistency in reapplying sunscreen during the day. Since Niacinamide works best when paired with diligent sun protection, the lack of reapplication may have affected the results.
Final Verdict
This serum worked well for me in terms of brightening and reducing dark spots, though pore size improvement was moderate. I’ve already repurchased it to test again with more consistent sunscreen application.
- Skin Brightening & Lightening Toner (5% Glycolic Acid + Tartaric Acid)
Why I Bought It
I wanted to introduce chemical exfoliation into my skincare routine. After seeing many nano creators on TikTok give positive reviews, I decided to try TREGO’s toner as a more affordable alternative to the expensive one I had used before.
Packaging & Texture
TREGO updated the toner’s packaging after customer feedback, switching to a spray nozzle. While that was a good move, the nozzle still malfunctions at times, making it difficult to dispense the product.
Usage & Experience
I initially applied the toner on my face, but it caused mild irritation and stinging, so I stopped. It felt too strong for my skin type. Instead, I started using it only on my body, especially underarms, hands, and feet.
Results
Face: Irritation prevented consistent usage, so I can’t give a fair review for facial results.
Body: In the underarms, I noticed less sweating and reduced odour from sweating. For strawberry legs or back acne, I can see this being useful, though I didn’t test it regularly for those concerns, as I don’t wax, and have no back acne issue.
Final Verdict
I can’t say much about its performance for melasma or body acne since I wasn’t consistent. However, for those looking for an affordable exfoliating toner for body brightening, underarms, or strawberry legs, this product can be a good choice.
Brand Trust & Price
- Skin Lightening Serum (30 ml) – PKR 1750
- Skin Brightening Toner (120 ml) – PKR 1400
Based on these two products, I trust TREGO as a brand. However, I can only vouch for these specific items since I haven’t tested their full range.
Conclusion
In my experience, the Skin Lightening Serum was a great investment, delivering visible improvements in dark spots and overall radiance, though not a complete solution for open pores. The Skin Brightening Toner didn’t suit my face but worked surprisingly well for underarms.
If you’re looking for an affordable Niacinamide-based serum or a chemical exfoliation toner for body care, these two TREGO products are worth considering. As always, consider your skin type and tolerance before adding new products to your routine.
